Donald G. Kann Donald G. Kann, 90, of The Long Community
of Highland, Lancaster, entered into rest on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018. Born in Strasburg, he was the son of the late
Harry J. and Ella F. Miller Kann. Don
was the husband of the late Phyllis L. Rupp Kann who died in August 2005. He graduated from McCaskey High School and
Franklin & Marshall College. Don
worked for RCA Corp. for 36 years, retiring in 1988. His last position was as a Home Office
Administrator providing production planning for the Scranton, PA plant. After retirement, Don also worked part-time
for the Lancaster General Hospital for 8 years.
He enjoyed golf. He was a past member of
the Meadia Heights Golf Club and more recently played with a Group of Super
Senior Citizens at Overlook Golf Course. Don served in Korea with the US Army's 213th Field Artillery
Unit during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, Quarryville Washington
Lodge #156 F & A Masons, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Reading Lodge of
Perfection. He enjoyed vacationing with his wife and friends in Ocean City, MD,
Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach, and Florida. He was of the Protestant Faith.
Surviving are: nephews, Douglas Kann, East
Petersburg and Jeffrey Kann, Conestoga. He was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Breneman and a brother, Robert
Kann.
The Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018 at the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola
with greeting time from Noon – 1 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial
contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
