Mabel N. Mellinger, 94, formerly of Lincoln Hwy. East, Lancaster, went home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Garden Spot Village.  Born in Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Samuel O. and Anna Martin Nolt.  She was the wife of the late Charles W. Mellinger who died in 2004.

For many years, she was the head cook at the Plain & Fancy Restaurant, Bird-in-Hand.  She enjoyed extending hospitality to people. She was a member of the Witmer Fire Co. Ladies Aux., and the Groffdale (Brick) Mennonite Church, Leola.

Surviving are: four children, Charles L. husband of Vivian Mellinger of Ronks, Ruth wife of Henry Youndt of East Earl, Doris wife of Dennis Summers of New Holland, Jere husband of Heather Mellinger of Witmer; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; five sisters, Edna wife of Omar Graybill of Fairmount Homes, Anna Mary wife of Galen Bollinger of Fredericksburg, PA, Esther wife of Jake Kreider of Kinzers, Arlene wife of the late Wilbur Hershey of Bethel, Dorothy wife of Bud Blank of Atglen.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Harlan Nolt.

Funeral services will be held from the Groffdale (Brick) Mennonite Church, 168 N. Groffdale Rd., Leola, on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11 AM with interment following in the adjoining cemetery.  Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM at the church on Monday.  Kindly omit flowers.
