Mabel would like to let all her beloved family & friends know that her work here on earth is done. She received a call, an offer of sorts, one you can’t refuse, on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Garden Spot Village. This offer included a long-awaited reunion with her humble husband Norman Glick, of which they were married for 59 years.
Mabel is now greeting a few others whom preceded her in death-(Brother) Wilmer Lapp, married to Kathy (Hoober Rodkey) Lapp & (Sister) Arlene Glick. Mabel was born April 27, 1932 at her family’s homestead, just outside of Intercourse, PA to David Lapp & Lydia (Glick) Lapp.
She is survived by her children- (Son) James Glick, married to Barbara (Rearich) Glick, (Son) Dennis Glick, married to Laura (Rearich) Glick) & (Daughter) Kathleen (Glick) Trout married to Craig Trout. As well as (Sister) Verna (Lapp) Wirth, married to Donald Wirth, (Brother) Kenneth Lapp, married to Jean (Shriner) Lapp and (wife of the late Wilmer Lapp) Kathy (Hoober Lapp) married to Kenneth Rodkey. And her grand-children & great-grand-children-Christopher, Laura Kate, Emily, Tyler, Phoenix, Caden and Aurora.
Mabel’s family envisions this new mission of hers to include her favorite things: pansies & gardening, canning & freezing vegetables from her garden and her famous fresh cheese bread & potato rolls.
Mabel worked at and helped to start Ken’s Gardens in 1972 with her husband Norman, brother Kenneth & sister-in-law Jean. Mabel was a member of Ridgeview Mennonite Church and lived at Garden Spot Village since 2014.
Mawmaw’s family will tell countless stories of her warmth, her quiet and consistent presence and how she worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. She made a difference in the lives of many; and the staff at GSV made an impact on her life at the end.
ARRANGEMENTS: A private interment service will take place at Ridgeview Mennonite Church. A celebration of life service this summer will be announced. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Mabel’s honor to Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster.
