Allen R. McQuate, 80, of Leola, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Russell and Charlotte (Diem) McQuate. He was married to Karen (Mosebach) McQuate for 61 years in July.
Allen worked as an electrical engineer for several companies over the years, moving into management later in his career. He was a past deputy game warden and amateur radio operator. He also enjoyed camping. He was a member of Ranck’s United Methodist Church in New Holland.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: 2 sons, Shaun married to Cathy McQuate, Leola, Keith married to Paula McQuate, Worthville, KY; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Cynthia Allison. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Diem.
A celebration of Allen’s life will take place at Ranck’s United Methodist Church, 700 Ranck Rd., New Holland, PA 17557 on Saturday, Aug. 23rd at 11 am. The family will visit with friends following the service. Private interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ranck’s United Methodist Church.
