William G. Briner, 82, of New Holland, PA, passed away peacefully in his home on September 9, 2025.
Born in Reading, PA, on March 22, 1943, he was the son of the late George Briner and E. Arline (Fisher) Briner. He grew up in Mohnton and graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 1961.
William was a devoted member of New Holland Church of the Nazarene for 35 years. He worked for Penn Mutual Insurance Company as an agent and stockbroker before owning and operating the Terre Hill Family Restaurant from 1979 to 1988. He later worked as a tour bus driver for Bieber Tourways for 23 years and finished his driving career with Elite Coach until his retirement.
With a deep love for classical music and horses, William found joy in both throughout his life. He was an accomplished string bass player in his youth and a proud member of the Red Rose Horse and Pony Driving Club. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, who adored their “Pop Pop.” A believer in personal phone calls and visits in an increasingly tech-driven world, he had a gift for sharing stories and making others feel welcome, whether at his restaurant, on a bus trip, or around the family table.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irene J. (Gerovasilis) Briner; his children, Wendy (John) Komancheck of Stevens, PA, Eric Briner of Norristown, PA, Lydia (Brian) Martin of Orlando, FL, and Angela (Kevin) McCarroll of East Earl, PA; his grandchildren, Connor (Lexi) Komancheck, Keenan Komancheck, Karis (Daniel) Broadbent, Alissa Martin, Caleb Martin, John Patrick McCarroll, and Madelyn McCarroll; and his great-grandson, Bexton Broadbent. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Beahm, wife of the late David Beahm, of Sinking Spring, PA, along with her children and grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11 a.m. at New Holland Church of the Nazarene, 428 Ranck Rd., New Holland, PA. A luncheon and time to visit with family and loved ones will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125, or online at www.hospicecommunity.org.
Above all, William will be remembered for his love of family, his faith, and the kindness he shared with all who knew him.
