Deborah “Skyflower” Austin Garner was a Mother, Nana, Sister, and Friend. She was born on April 18, 1966 and departed this life peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
Deborah was born in Bladen County, NC. She eventually moved to Alexandria, VA where she graduated from T.C. Williams High School in 1985.
Deborah loved her people, her family, her church family, and her friends. She devoted her life to taking care of people. She was a caregiver to the elderly, including her parents. She adored her grandchildren and absolutely everything about them.
Lastly, but most importantly, Deborah loved the Lord. She gave her life to Jesus Christ at a young age. For the last five years, she has been a member of Tabernacle of God Horn of David Miracle Church under the leadership of Bishop Vincent Hucks. She loved spending time and serving God with her church family and her “Soulfire Sisters”. She was a prayer warrior, praiser, worshiper, and an all-around believer and lover of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Deborah was preceded in death by: her mother, Lillie Mae Austin; granddaughter, Mijoi Turner; niece, Latoya Davis; and sister, Vickie Austin.
Deborah’s sweet memories will be cherished by: her husband Raymond; her daughter, Lacey; her son Traymond (Beunka); her grandchildren, Jadan, Kennadi, Austin, Chase, and Khloe; and siblings, Consheila (Jerry), Ray, L. Jean, Mike, Franklin, Linda (Steve), Rickey, Anita, Kristie (Wyliek), and Crystal; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held from the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 12 pm. There will be a viewing from 11 am to 12 pm at the funeral home on Wednesday.
