Karen K. Adkins, 69, of Leola, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
Born in Lancaster, Karen was the cherished daughter of George Reinfried and Ada McGinnis. She was the devoted wife of Robert Adkins. Loved for her infectious laugh and unwavering affection for her family, Karen delighted in being a grandmother to five grandchildren. She also held a lifelong passion for animals.
Karen dedicated over forty-seven years to Dart Container Corporation in Leola, where she served in various roles before her retirement. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Leola.
In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by her daughter, Hope Adkins-Durante (wife of Michael Durante), and her son, James Adkins (husband of Janice Adkins); five grandchildren: Aiden Durante, Jackson Durante, Quentin Durante, Connor Adkins, and Olivia Adkins; two sisters, Vicki (wife of Walter Rebman, Jr.) and Jill Shaeffer (wife of the late John Shaeffer). She also leaves behind her beloved cats, Angel, Buddy, and Pete.
A service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola. The family will greet friends prior to the service, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 2nd Lock Road, Lancaster.

Karen will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched and loved.
