Janet Lapp Sanborn, 82, of Leola, entered her heavenly home to meet her savior Jesus Christ on January 25, 2026. After several years of Alzheimer’s and stroke related decline, her final days were swift and serene.
She was the daughter of the late Amos and Emma (Krentz) Lapp. Janet worked at Citizens First Bank in Florida at the Villages for 23 years. Previously she was the co-owner of the Olde Greenfield Inn Restaurant in Lancaster, PA.
Janet enjoyed listening to the Gaither’s music, taking golf cart drives and shopping. She was known for her sense of style. She was a person of deep faith and love for her family.
Janet will be lovingly missed by: her daughter, Michelle married to Dennis L. Derstine of Leola; her son, Michael married to Kara Lapp of Bozeman, MT; six grandchildren, Nickolas married to Val of TX, Amanda of PA, Christian of CA, Katie of MT, Madison of PA, and Colter of MT; five great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her brother, Carl Lapp; sisters, Ruth Lapp, Verna Groff and Edna Wyble.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Burial of Ashes will follow in the Salem Evangelical Reformed Hellers Cemetery.
