Edgar “Ed” Camacho, 58, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and close friends after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Born on January 23, 1968, in Goshen, Indiana, Ed was the son of the late Jose L. Camacho, Sr. and Juana Camacho. He was known for his witty humor, tenacity, and love of sports. Ed was an architectural designer with GHD, where he took tremendous pride in his work and truly loved what he did.
Ed had a rare gift for connection and left a lasting impact on his nieces and nephews. Whether sharing stories, talking sports, playing games, or taking them out for breakfast, he always made time for them. His spirit lives on through their fondest childhood memories and the stories they continue to tell.
A devoted sports fan, Ed’s loyalty never wavered. He was passionate about the Philadelphia Eagles, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Philadelphia Phillies, and Philadelphia Flyers. Football Sundays were sacred to Ed. His early days playing softball and dodgeball reflected his competitive spirit and love of the game. Whether watching sports with family and friends or discussing the latest season stats, sports brought him great joy and connection. Ed also had a memorable sense of humor and often joked, “I can get a little rammy sometimes,” a phrase those who loved him will forever remember with a smile.
Above all, Ed cherished his family and friendships. He will be remembered for his resilience, generosity, stubborn determination, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. Even during his illness, Ed faced each day with courage and grace. Ed is survived by his mother, Juana Camacho; and his siblings, Sandra Mann, Jose L. Camacho, Jr., Sheila Daniels, Hubert Camacho, and JoAnne Fittante.
