Judith A. “Judy” Stevens, 88, of Brownstown, entered into rest on May 30, 2026. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Virginia (Bare) Witmyer and Robert Bucher Witmyer. Mrs. Stevens was the widow of Gordon Stevens of Los Angeles, CA.
She obtained her B.S. in special education from Bloomsburg University in 1958. A lifelong advocate for the education and welfare of special needs children, she made a career at IU 13, from which she retired in 2003. She volunteered her time to the Girl Scouts of America and the West Earl Fire Auxiliary, and countless community events. She is survived by her son, Friedrich. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ASPCA or Sierraclub.org.
