Sheila M. Verghese, 41, of Leola PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and close friends on July 29th at 9pm. Born in Mumbai India, she was adopted by her loving parents Thomas and Brenda Verghese who preceded her in death. Growing up, Sheila was a good athlete who played soccer and swam on the swim team for many years.
She is survived by: her loving Fiancé, Jonathon Noecker; twin sons, Anthony and Isaiah Taylor; brother, Samuel Verghese; and many cousins, uncles, and aunts. Sheila spent many years working in retail management and obtained a degree in Interior Design. Sheila loved her friends, family, children, and her seven cats.
She spent the last years as a homemaker taking care of her two children and building a life with her Fiancé. Her favorite past time was occasionally playing soccer with her kids and watching their soccer games, and watching Law & Order SVU when she had down time. On Sundays in the autumn, you could always find her curled up on the couch rooting for her favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. Sheila touched the lives of so many and will be remembered most for her kindness, empathy, love, and humor. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of being her friend and family.
A memorial service will be held at Forest Hills Mennonite Church, 100 Quarry Rd., Leola, on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026 at 11 am. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service. Private interment will be in Bareville Cemetery.
