Gerald K. “Jerry" Hinerdeer, 73, of Leola, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Kenneth B. and Mary Jane Brubaker Hinerdeer.  He was the loving husband of Kathleen A. Consylman Hinerdeer.  They were married on Dec. 3, 1960.

Jerry was a tool and die maker for Lancaster Tool & Die, Hubley, J.L. Clark, Oregon Manufacturing and New Standard Corporation.

An avid micro midget racer at Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway, he won several championships and also raced against his father and brother.  He loved riding motorcycles, fishing and hunting. He was a member of Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Hellers.

In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly missed by:  three sons, Denny husband of Vickie Hinerdeer of Lancaster, Scott husband of Missy Hinerdeer of Ephrata, Mike Hinerdeer husband of Diane Velletri of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Tasha, Bryson, Haley, Daniel, Phillip, and Josiah; a sister, Jeannette Bennetch of Myerstown; a brother, Barry husband of Sharon Hinerdeer of Lititz.

Funeral services will be held from the Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Hellers, 2555 Horseshoe Rd., Lancaster on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11 am with interment following in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at the Furman Home for Funerals 59 W. Main St., Leola, and from 10 to 11 am at the church on Monday.
