Alice M. Leed, 80, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at home after a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John and Elsie Bouder Brooks. She was the wife of the late Enos H. Leed, Sr. who died in July of 1991.
She had worked for several businesses over the years including: the Hubley Toy Co., Calvary Fellowship Homes, Weis Market in Willow Street, and Calder Door Mfg. She was a member of New Providence Church of God and its circle of friends, as well as the Brickerville Leisure Hours Club.
Surviving are: a son, Enos H., Jr. husband of Wanda Mimm Leed of Lancaster; a daughter, Yvonne wife of Paul Brown of Lancaster; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Myers of Smyrna, DE. She was preceded in death by: five brothers, Melvin, David, John, Leroy, and Robert Brooks; a sister, Mary Baum.
Funeral services will be held from the New Providence Church of God 269 Cinder Rd., New Providence, on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11 AM with interment following in Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Hellers Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM at the church on Thursday.
