Anna A. (Burkholder) Buckwalter, 94, formerly of Old Phila. Pike and Horseshoe Road, Lancaster and currently of Landis Homes, Lititz, departed this earth and moved to her heavenly home on December 19, 2024. Born in Clay Township, she was the 8th child of the late Frank P. and Minnie W. Burkholder. She was married to Enos Buckwalter Jr for 67 years who preceded her in death in 2018.
Anna was a homemaker and longtime member of Mellinger Mennonite Church. She was a member of the Witmer Fire Company Women’s Auxiliary and the 40-60 travel group. She was also the survivor of many family camping trips. Anna loved flowers, holding babies, chocolate of any type, and Twizzlers. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anna is survived by four children, Everett, husband of Jane Martin Buckwalter, Smoketown; Leon, husband of Joan Kreider Buckwalter, Harrisburg; Linda, wife of Lloyd Eby, Ephrata; Dale, husband of Yvonne Gingrich, Manheim; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Anna is preceded in death, in addition to Enos, by a daughter in law, Joanne Martin Buckwalter; a grandson; brothers, Levi, Edward, and Clyde Burkholder and sisters, Esther Weaver, Alta Burkholder-Eberly, Minnie Eberly, and Eva Good-Bollinger.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Hwy East, Lancaster, on Friday January 3, 2025 at 11:00 am. The family will greet friends on Thursday January 2, 2025 from 6 to 8 pm in the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, and again from 10:00 to 11:00 am January 3, 2025 at Mellinger Mennonite Church. Private interment will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Landis Homes, the nurses at LGH 6th floor Frederick unit, and the Hospice staff for the care they gave Anna the last days of her life here on earth.
