Annabelle B. Herr Feb. 23, 1937-Feb. 12, 2013 Annabelle B. Herr, 75, of 785 Bellevue Ave., Gap, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. A daughter of the late Clayton and Miriam Ulrich Burkhart, she grew up on a 100 acre farm in Strasburg Township. She graduated from the former E. Lampeter High School in 1955 and the Bunker Hill one room elementary school. She was the wife of Paul Miller Herr. They were married 48 years in May. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Stephanie A. wife of Paul Ngo, DePere, WI, Eric D. Herr, Gap, Barbara L. wife of Richard Ball, Dayton, MD; nine grandchildren: Nicholas and Elisabeth Ngo; Matthew and Travis Herr; Rachel, Megan, Jocelyn, Alexander and Hannah Ball; a brother, Donald Burkhart, Lancaster. Mrs. Herr was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Burkhart, and her sister, Elizabeth Miller. Mrs. Herr loved serving others and was quite involved in her church, Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Hellers, as cherub choir director; senior choir member; deacon; elder; head of Lay-Life committee; organized and taught in the nursery program; coordinated funeral luncheons; coordinated deliveries for abused women and the Milagro House; taught and served on two mission trips to Guatemala; mentored in “Homes of Hope/Love Inc.”; member of the Spiritual Council; coordinated shut-in visitations; Agape (providing meals for many years). Her community service included: Gap Craft Ladies; Salisbury Twp. Historical Society; co-chair of the “Gap Gourmet Gala”; member of the Salisbury Elementary PTA; Brownie Troop Leader; Pequea Valley AFS program hosting two exchange students. She also enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, cooking, crafting, sewing, and puzzles. She also had worked for Fulton Bank as a switchboard operator and 20 years for the Gap Veterinary Assoc. as a client phone manager and two-way radio operator. The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at 1 p.m. from the Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Hellers, 2555 Horseshoe Road, Lancaster, PA.
