Arlene W. Rineer, 82, of Ephrata Manor, formerly of Horseshoe Rd., Lancaster, entered into rest on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 while surrounded by her family. Born in Strasburg, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ruth Thompson Welk. Mrs. Rineer was a loving and devoted wife of Harold “Whitey" Rineer who died in 1979.
A 1952 East Lampeter High School graduate, she then worked as a bookkeeper for H. M. Stauffer & Sons from 1952-61. Later she worked for the County of Lancaster as a judicial clerk for District Justice Bard and later Kopp at the Geist Road District Magistrate office. A member of Salem Evangelical Reformed Church Hellers, she also was a Life Member of the Upper Leacock Fire Co., and she enjoyed counted cross-stitch and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be lovingly missed by: her children, Pamela Hackney, Douglas married to Mary Rineer, both of Leola, Linda married to John Paradee, Dover, DE; grandchildren, Stephanie Weaver, Jason and Jared Hackney, Michael and Abbey Rineer, Jackson and Ethan Paradee; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard married to Margit Welk, Coudersport, Judy Webb, Lancaster, Wayne Welk Sr., Dover, PA; sister-in-law, Gladys Miller, Quarryville.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola with viewing preceding from 10-11 a.m. Interment: Hellers Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
