June 10, 1921 – August 12, 2021
Betty M. Adams, 100 years old, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania went home to be with our Lord on August 12, 2021. Born in Altoona, PA she was the wife of the late Robert H. Adams.
Surviving are her son Steve Adams, daughter-in-law Colleen Wagner Adams, granddaughter Stephanie Adams Tripp, grandson-in-law Jason Tripp, step-daughter Nancy Adams Smith, step-son Robert Adams, Jr., and step-daughter Joan Adams Cunningham.
Betty, Mom, and Grammy as she was affectionately known is now in the arms of Jesus. A place she’s been looking forward to for quite some time.
She left a forever legacy that few have the opportunity to do. The “dash” on her tombstone was filled with a special calling. She was a hero of the faith in our eyes. We will forever be grateful for her influence in the lives of others she touched along the way. Most of her life was invested as a homemaker and loving wife and mother. She taught Sunday School, volunteered in the school cafeteria and as a Crossing Guard for the youngsters in Steve’s elementary school.
Betty came to know the Lord in her late 30’s and served Him faithfully until her passing. In her personal care home, she was an ambassador for good. Greeting new residents, filling in for the activities director during morning devotions, and getting birthday cards signed by each resident presenting them at the appointed time with a hug and a smile. She rarely missed an activity with a record score of 299 at Wii Bowling.
She loved Jesus and she loved others. It was evident in the love she received in return. As we opened her Bible today the following scripture was written inside on a separate piece of paper along with her prayer list.
“Exercise patience …. until the presence of the Lord.” James 5:7
She most certainly did that over her hundred years on this earth. Every day began with devotions and prayer as she offered up blessings for others.
We will miss you, as will so many others – but not for long. Our reunion is imminent as is the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held graveside at Conestoga Memorial Park in Lancaster, PA on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 11:00 AM. All are welcome.
