Bruce L. Kofroth, 83, of 117 Black Oak Dr., Lancaster, formerly of Veumont Dr., Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord after a nine month battle with cancer on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015. He was the loving husband of Arlene Zook Kofroth. They were married 59 years last March. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen McCreary Kofroth.
Mr. Kofroth worked over 20 years in the machine shop at High Steel. Prior to that, he worked for Zook’s Flour Mill in Leola. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. A member of Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Hellers, he was an avid Penn State Fan. He and his wife attended many bowl games. Traveling and volunteering at the church and at CVCCS brought much enjoyment to him.
He will also be lovingly missed by: three children, Curtis married to Karen Weaver Kofroth, Quarryville, Cynthia married to William Portner Jr., Ephrata, Christopher married to Maria Theresita Flores Kofroth, Ogden, Utah; seven grandchildren, Craig and Kyle Portner, Alicia Kofroth, Stephanie Spring, Collin, Cyrus and Zachary Kofroth; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronald married to the late Gloria Kofroth, Charles Glen Kofroth (Geraldine), Joanne married to Emanuel Stoltzfus, all of Lititz. He was preceded in death by siblings: Kenneth, Doris Weaver, Dale, Barb Maestle and Barry.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. from Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Hellers, 2555 Horseshoe Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601. Viewings: Tuesday, 6 – 8 p.m. and Wednesday 10 – 11 a.m. all at the church. Interment: the adjoining cemetery.
