Charlotte M. (Studd) Shannon, 102, went home to be with her Lord on May 17, 2026 at Trillium Place in Lancaster, PA.   Born on Jan 28, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George F and M. Lena (Mast) Studd.  She was raised in an 18th century log farmhouse in Narvon, PA and graduated from Coatesville High School.  She then worked at Hamilton Watch Co in Lancaster and, later, at RCA Corp, where she met her future husband, Arthur W Shannon, Jr., of Hannibal, MO.  She and Art were married 61 years at the time of his passing in 2008.

Charlotte is survived by 5 children:  Jane, wife of Michael Resh of York; James, husband of Susan (Armer) of Ephrata; Ame, wife of Larry Groff of Manheim; Abbey, wife of Steven Hershey of East Petersburg and Steven, husband of Jolynne (Zimmerman) of Lebanon.  She’s also survived by a sister, Rae (wife of the late James Skiles) of Moncks Corner, SC.  She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Beverly (wife of the late Anthony Denisewicz) in 2023, a grandson, Ian Yale Shannon in 2019, sisters Margaret (wife of the late Kermit Mast) in 2018 and Dorothy (wife of the late Harold Sollenberger) in 2025 and a brother, William Studd in 2001.

     Charlotte was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

When their children were young, Art and Charlotte taught Sunday School at Pequea Baptist Church in Cains, PA, and served as board members of Old Mill Bible Conference in Honey Brook, PA, helping to maintain the facilities for children’s summer camps and weekend Bible Conferences.  In more recent years, Art and Charlotte worshipped at Calvary Church in Lanc, PA

Charlotte was a very social person and enjoyed visits with friends, playing card games, hiking, bird watching, gardening, sewing and camping with family at Cowan’s Gap State Park.  Summer vacations (when the children were still home) always included a family trip to Hannibal, MO to visit Art’s family.  She and Art traveled the country extensively over the years, visiting nearly every state, including Alaska.  In later years they enjoyed wintering in Orlando, FL, where they developed many close friendships.  But above all, Charlotte loved spending time with her family.

Interment in the Honey Brook United Methodist Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life will be hosted by the family at a date yet to be determined.
