Daniel B. Smucker, 81, of 424A Peters Rd., Gordonville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mary S. Fisher Smucker. They were married 61 years in November. Born on the same property where he died, he was the son of the late David Y. and Annie M. Esh Smucker. A farmer, he was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Also surviving are: sons, David married to Mary Kauffman Smucker, Christiana, Elam married to Annie Stoltzfus Smucker, Honey Brook, Daniel Jr. married to Sadie King Smucker, Ephrata, Amos married to Fannie Stoltzfus Smucker, New Holland, Samuel married to Barbara Stoltzfus Smucker, Kirkwood, Levi married to Emma Fisher Smucker, Delta, John married to Rachel Smucker Smucker, Gordonville, Benuel married to Mary King Smucker, New Holland; daughters, Sarah married to Jacob Stoltzfus, Airville, Annie married to Aquilla Stoltzfus, Nancy married to Stephen Stoltzfus, both Kirkwood, Lydia married to Samuel Stoltzfus, Bird-in-Hand, Mary married to Henry Stoltzfus, Oxford, Malinda married to John Yoder, Lancaster, Lizzie married to Amos Fisher, IN, Sadie married to Jacob Beiler, WI, Rebecca married to Ivan Stoltzfus, Christiana; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Stoltzfus Smucker, WI; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Jacob married to Malinda Smucker, Leola; sister, Lizzie married to Levi Fisher, Strasburg; brother-in-law, Benuel Fisher, Montour County.
Mr. Smucker was preceded in death by: a son, Jacob; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Susie Glick, Sadie and Arie Fisher; a brother, David.
The funeral will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 from the late home. Interment: Dry Hill Cemetery. Viewing: at the late home from the time of this notice till the service. Kindly omit flowers.
