Daniel Lee Rudy, 52, of Leola went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 16, 2014. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Clarence and Marion Breckbill Rudy. He was married for 31 years to Elizabeth “Betsy" Leininger Rudy.
Dan was a 1979 graduate of Ephrata High School and a graduate of Automotive Training Center, Exton, PA. He was employed as Fleet Manager at B.R. Kreider and Sons, Manheim, and had worked there for 24 years. He was a member of Grace Point Church of Paradise. He previously attended Village Chapel Mennonite Church, where he served in many roles including Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Executive Council Chairman. Dan had previously served on the Upper Leacock Township Planning Commission and served as Treasurer for the Power Connection Youth Center, Lititz.
A man of many interests and talents, Dan was a private pilot, enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, fast cars, cooking for groups and photography to name a few. Most of all, Dan loved serving the Lord and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by: two daughters, Bethany Nicole, a senior at West Chester University, and Heather Elizabeth, a senior at Lancaster Mennonite High School; one brother: Ken Rudy, husband of Pam Menges Rudy; three sisters: Julie Weller, companion of Richard Abrams, Kathy Miller, wife of Alan Miller, and Mary Ann Palladino, wife of Mark Palladino.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Dan's life will be held at Grace Point Church of Paradise, 8 South Singer Ave, Paradise, PA 17562 on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00a.m. Family Visitation will be available from 9:00-11:00a.m. Kindly omit flowers. Contributions in memory of Dan may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr. Lancaster, PA 17603 for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
