David B. Johns, 90, of Signature Senior Living of Lititz, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at his residence. Born in Upper Leacock Township, he was the son of the late Peter B. and Hannah Burkhart Johns. He was the widower of the late Esther B. Wise Johns. He was a self-employed truck driver and a lifetime member of Lititz Dunkard Brethren Church. David collected old tractors and “hit and miss” engines. He enjoyed gardening and family activities.
He is survived by: children, Janet L. wife of Frank E. Shaffer of Greencastle, David Lee husband of Marilyn J. Johns of Lititz, Paul L. husband of Karen I. Johns of Strasburg, Mark L. husband of Debra L. Johns of Richland, Arthur L. husband of Melanie A. Johns of Paradise; 20 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and a sister, Esther Hoffer of Rothsville.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Doris L. Johns, a brother, Lester Johns and a sister, Annamary Witman.
A visitation will be held from 5-8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola, PA. The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Lititz Dunkard Brethren Church, 430 Clay Road, Lititz, PA with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Middle Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
