David Gehman, 88, of Millersville, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Hospice and Community Care inpatient center, Mount Joy, PA.  He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathryn M. (Garber) Gehman.  In addition, he is survived by six children: Glen married to Nancy Bender; Linda married to Titus Peachey; Dan married to Jenny Winters; Dawn married to Dale Horst; Lois married to Peter Omonde; and June married to Ethan Deane.  There are also eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

David was born in West Earl Township, son of Jonathan and Mary Ella (Martin) Gehman.   He worked 25 years for Pennfield Corporation.  After retiring in 1990, he worked as a chauffeur for Unique Limousine and Faulkner BMW.

David was a member at East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church.  He and Kathryn volunteered often at local agencies, and enjoyed hosting many international students and guests in their home.  They also traveled to Canada, Chile, Germany, Japan, Laos, Nicaragua and Thailand to visit their children and grandchildren, as well as some of their international guests.  

Funeral services will be held at East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church, 432 E. Chestnut St. Lancaster, on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 10:00 am, with Pastor Todd Friesen officiating. A viewing will be held at East Chestnut St. Mennonite Church, Friday, May 30, 2014, 6-8 pm and Saturday, May 31, 9 -10 am.  Burial will be at Metzlers Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, Box 500, Akron, PA  17501.
