Dorothy L. Shaub, 98, of Lancaster, was welcomed home into the loving arms of her Savior Thursday, September 18, 2014. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Alberta Little Landis. She was the wife of the late Dr. Robert A. Shaub, who died in 1998. Dorothy was a homemaker and a long-time member of Calvary Church. She graduated from Stevens High School for Girls, Lancaster. In her early years, she was a member of Reg Kehoe's Girl Marimba Band and worked at Armstrong during WW II. She was a charter member of the Quarryville Gro and Sho Garden Club and taught and volunteered at Child Evangelism Fellowship for 25 years. She had traveled extensively through the USA, Canada, Europe and Israel. Dorothy enjoyed Bible study, walking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She lived in her cottage at Calvary Homes for 28 years and volunteered at the nursing facility.
She is survived by: children, Jean E. wife of Herbert J. Hobson of Wabash, IN, Carole E. wife of Dr. Donald Schnapf of Willow Street, Dr. Stephen R. husband of Ann Murry Shaub of Billings, MT, Timothy husband of Joy Diether Shaub of Lancaster, Susan S. wife of Jeffrey Mussmon of Pequea; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Stephanie M. Shaub; great-grandchildren, Sarah Jean Hobson and Asher Robert Hernandez; brothers, Dwight Landis and Kenneth Landis; sisters, Charlotte Spong and Eleanor Spangler.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Fellowship Homes, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster, PA. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 5307 Main St., East Petersburg, PA 17520 or Calvary Homes Benevolent Fund, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601. Interment will be private in St. John United Methodist Church Cemetery.
