     Duke Spencer Groff, 24, of 5385 Paes Rd., New Holland, passed away unexpectedly while in Lycoming County on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014.  Born in Lancaster, he was the loving son of Dale and Lori C. (Matt) Groff. 

     Duke was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, and friend. His love for his family and friends was strong. He was hard-working and would be there for anyone in need. He was the assistant manager of Birchtree Manor Apartments and the Lancaster Stone Company Inc. He graduated from Conestoga Valley in 2009. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and enjoyed going on numerous hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling trips with family and friends; he was an active member of the Beulahland Hunting Club and was a devoted Flyers and Eagles fan.  

     Duke will be deeply missed by: his parents; his sister, Nicole Kirchner, New Holland; his dog, Goose; his maternal grandparents, Carole and Henry “Chuck" Matt, New Holland; his uncle, Hank Matt married to Brigette, Lancaster; and all his friends that shared a special bond with him in his life.

     The memorial service will be Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at 5 p.m. at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola.  There will be no viewing; however, the family will greet friends from 3 – 5 p.m. at Furman's.  In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate contributions to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Lancaster Red Rose Chapter c/o Scott Heckel, 118 Sandstone Dr., Willow Street, PA 17584.
