Edna S. Shirk, 90, of Brethren Village, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at her residence. Born in Bowmansville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Amos N. and Mary G. Shirk Burkhart. She was the wife of the late Raymond M. Shirk who died in 1988. She was employed by Conestoga Church of the Brethren where she was a member. She is survived by a son, James husband of Lucille Shirk of Ephrata; a daughter, Linda wife of David Owen of Modesto, CA; daughter-in-law, Nancy Shirk of Gap; four grandchildren, Heidi Shirk, Erin Shirk, Josh Shirk, Matthew Shirk; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Leroy and Carl Burkhart. She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Shirk; sisters, Emma Knight, Pearl Turner, Marian Martzall, Lena Groff, Beatrice Burkhart; brothers, Harold and Wayne Burkhart. The funeral will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Conestoga Church of the Brethren, 141 E. Main St., Leola, PA 17540. Friends may call Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the church. Interment will be in Bareville Cemetery.
