Edna S. Smucker

5/16/2024

Edna S. Smucker, 88, of New Holland, PA, went home to heaven on May 16, 2024. Born on September 13, she was the daughter of the late Elam and Mattie (Stoltzfus) Zook. Edna was the loving wife of the late Jacob S. Smucker (who passed in 2014) for 58 years, being married on November 22, 1955.

Edna was a member of Honey Brook Community Church, and served in the Sewing Circle. She loved being a farmer’s wife, and still followed the crops and weather. She volunteered with White Horse Ladies Auxiliary for over 25 years. She was a caregiver for most of her life, including for her parents, sisters-in-law, and her husband. She loved her family and was always available to serve them as an expression of that. She cared for each one and wanted all to be together. She was a sweet friend to many and was loyal and faithful. She loved the Lord and was a woman of prayer. She was very detailed and organized, liked cooking, sewing, reading, and listening to music and sermons.

She will be lovingly missed by her five children – David Smucker, Eugene (Loretta) Smucker, Martha (Leonard) Miller, Freida (Marlin) Huyard, and Betty (Philip) Weaver. And her 15 grandchildren – Craig (Becky) Smucker, Eric (Sabrina) Smucker, Jordan (Dana) Smucker, Grant (Amy) Smucker, Stephanie (David) Rowe, Cody (Kelly) Miller, Dustin Miller (& fiancé Holly Martin), Destinee (Michael) Ray, Estella (Ezra) Owen, Cordell (Savannah) Huyard, Celeste Huyard, Mylon Weaver, Mitchell (Cassie) Weaver, Olivia Weaver, Sophia Weaver (and fiancé Liam Nyce), and 25 great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Aaron Zook and Anna Zook (twins), a grandson Dallas Miller, and Trevor Heinrich, late husband of Estella Owen.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the funeral at Honey Brook Community Church, 3940 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, PA 19344 on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 3 pm. The family will greet friends following the service. The viewing will be at the church on Sunday, May 19th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. There will be no viewing on Monday. Private interment will be in Pequea Amish-Mennonite Cemetery. If desired, a contribution may be given to Honey Brook Community Church.
