Edna W. Martin, beloved mother and dear friend, passed away September 9, 2015 at the age of 81 years and three days.
Edna was born September 6, 1934 in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. She and her late husband, Leon M. Martin, raised a family of five children, and owned a local roofing business. She was a fulltime homemaker who loved to garden, quilt, can, cook and bake. Most of all, she loved her children and dedicated her life to caring for them. She also made many meals for friends and people in need.
Edna is survived by her children, Leonard married to Linda Martin, Lawrence married to Darlene Martin, Lamar Martin, and Lisa married to Wesley Graham; grandchildren, Nathan married to Samantha Kulp, Tyler Kulp, Larissa married to Eric Kreiser, Megan Kulp, Joshua Martin, Abigail Martin, Hudson Graham and Isaac Graham; great-granddaughter, Samantha Kulp; son-in-law, David Kulp; siblings, Phares Hurst Sr., Amos married to Martha Hurst, Lizzie married to Titus Weaver, Lydia married to Paul Nolt.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laraine Kulp; and son, Lee Isaac Martin; siblings, Reuben Hurst, Isaac Hurst, Aaron Hurst, Annie Nolt, Frances Hurst.
Edna supported many missionary and charity works. Her heart, however, always went out to hurting children. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions in her memory to an orphanage she strongly supported: HOINA, PO Box 636, Brownstown, PA 17508-0636.
A memorial service will be held in Edna's honor on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 at the Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster. Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
