Elizabeth Z. Smoker, 95, formerly of Bird-in-Hand, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Conestoga View. Born in Talmage, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Zook Smoker. She was the wife of the late Aquilla J. Smoker who died in February of 1997.
A homemaker, Elizabeth was a member of Neffsville Mennonite Church. She enjoyed sewing and singing.
Surviving are: her son, Dwight E. husband of Robyn Schucker Smoker of Lancaster; five grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Augsburger and Anna Lapp; three brothers, David Smoker, Melvin Smoker, and Reuben husband of Esther Smoker. She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Smoker, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers.
A viewing will be held from the Furman Home for Funerals 59 W. Main St. Leola, on Friday December 19, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM. Private interment will be in Ridgeview Mennonite Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee P.O. Box 500 Akron, PA 17501-0500.
