Enos R. Buckwalter, Jr., 89, formerly of Horseshoe Rd., Lancaster, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at Landis Homes. Born in East Lampeter Twp., he was the son of the late Enos R. Sr., and Maria H. Book Buckwalter. He was married for 67 years to Anna Burkholder Buckwalter.
Enos was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Mellinger Mennonite Church. A volunteer at Camp Hebron, Halifax, he was also a member of the 40-60 Group. He enjoyed traveling, camping, old cars, and driving taxi for the Amish.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: four children, Everett husband of Jane Martin Buckwalter, Leon husband of Joan Kreider Buckwalter, Linda wife of Lloyd Eby, Dale Buckwalter husband of Yvonne Gingrich; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: a daughter-in-law, Joanne Martin Buckwalter; a grandson; five sisters, Anna M. Buckwalter, Emma Buckwalter, Elizabeth Hess, Miriam Buckwalter, Alma Gehman.
A memorial service will be held from the Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Hwy East, Lancaster on Saturday, April 14th at 10:30 AM. The family will greet friends following the service. A viewing will be held from the Landis Homes West Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, on Friday, April 13th from 6 to 8 PM. Private interment will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp Hebron or the Landis Homes Caring Fund.
