Esther Mae Hoffer, 93, formerly of Lititz, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Ephrata Manor. Born in East Lampeter Twp., she was the daughter of the late Peter B. and Hannah Burkhart Johns.
She is survived by: 2 daughters, Charlene married to Anthony Bollinger, Diane married to Dean Krout; 8 grandchildren, Keith Bollinger, Kurtis married to Keila Bollinger, Kristalene married to Isai Bautista, Kollene married Daniel Saenz, Michael married to Irina McCann, Derric married to Laura Krout, Danea married to Daniel Frederick, and Darren married to Victoria Krout; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Mary Witman, and her 2 brothers, David and Lester Johns.
She was a CNA for over 40 years, caring for the elderly in her home. She was a member of Farm Women Society #7. At marriage, she became a member of White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim. Later she joined Mellinger Mennonite Church, Lancaster, prior to moving to Florida. Living in Florida for 17 years, she was an active member in the Church of the Brethren including coordinator for blood pressure and blood donation programs, singing in the choir and playing the organ. She enjoyed home bible study including Les Feldick and last day Bible prophecy. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels.
She loved music, crocheting, cross-stitch, word puzzles and reading. She read her Bible through many, many times and loved Bible prophecy.
Funeral services will be held from the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Bareville Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 10:30 am at the funeral home on Thursday.
