Eugene J. Rupp, 89, of New Holland, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017. He was the son of the late Spencer and Ruth Rupp and the husband of the late Marlene Rupp. He attended Brownstown High School. During World War II, he served in the Special Services Unit of the 5th Army.
In his younger days, he enjoyed country music and played in several music groups. He played with the Garden Spot Boys and with Red Skiles and the Happy Valley Boys. After moving to New Holland he became a member of New Holland Lions Club and was past-president of the New Holland Ambulance Association for several years. He retired from the former New Holland Machine Co. after 42 years of service. He also was a relief motion picture projectionist at most of the theaters in the area. He attended Christian Fellowship Church in New Holland.
He is survived by; two daughters, Joyce married to Ronald Stern, Karen married to Dennis Boettner both of New Holland; four step-daughters, Donna married to Richard Tyes of St. Peters, MO, Debra married to David Keneagy of Pequea, Dianne married to Michael Feeley of Lakeland, FL and Dayle McGarvey of New Holland.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce St., New Holland, PA. Friends may call from 3-4:00 on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be private.
