Florence Koenig, 97, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Born in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hilda Barber Dobedoe. Mrs. Koenig was the loving wife of the late Roy E. Koenig who died in 1982. They met in England during WWII while she worked at Vickers Aircraft.
A homemaker and avid reader, she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Lancaster. She also volunteered and served the American Lung Assoc. for 20 years. She was a beloved member of her family and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include: two children, Roy F. Koenig, Deborah wife of Samuel Hartman, both of Lancaster; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank husband of the late Mavis Dobedoe, Swindon, England. A sister, Hilda Dobedoe preceded her in death.
Funeral services: Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola, PA. Greeting time with family from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Interment: Trumbauer Memorial Cemetery, Leola. Kindly omit flowers.
