Frances M. Armstrong


     Frances M. Armstrong, 88, of Leola, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Born on September 19, 1937 in Silver Spring, PA, she was the daughter of the late Moses and Lydia Shirk.

     Fran was the director of Women’s Ministry at the Worship Center in Lancaster for 22 years, where she was a member and lay counselor.  For years she traveled the world with her husband Richard, ministering the love of Christ in bible schools, seminars, and conference settings in 14 different countries. They have shared unconditional love without reservation to all people from all walks of life and are in turn, dearly loved by many.

     Prior to her full-time employment at the Worship Center, Fran was employed as an administrative assistant at Edward Armstrong & Sons.  Past hobbies included reading, homemaking, bowling, time with family and encouraging others.

     In addition to her loving husband, Richard L. Armstrong, Fran will be deeply missed by her blended family of five children, Bert Kunkle of Lancaster, Lydia Ebersole (Franklin) of Jupiter, FL, Charles Hurst (Lisa) of Terre Hill, Kim Martell (Rebecca) of Lancaster, and Rob Armstrong of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister Esther Shirk of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, William, Samuel, Doris, and Abram Shirk.

     Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2026; Viewings: Friday, July 24 – 6:00-8:00 PM and Saturday -10:00-11:00 AM all at the Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster. Interment:  Silver Spring Cemetery.
