     Franklin C. Waltz, 94, of St. John's Herr Estate, Columbia formerly of Ephrata and Lancaster, entered into rest on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016. 

      He was the son of the late James and Lydia (Harmon) Waltz. He was the husband of the late Dolores (Anderson) Waltz who died in 1998.

     A J.P. McCaskey High School graduate, Franklin worked as a foundry superintendent for Pennsylvania Malleable. For a number of years, he was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Lancaster and the Disabled American Veterans.  He enjoyed woodworking and traveling.  Mr. Waltz served his country during WWII as a U. S. Army Staff Sergeant with the 44thEngineer Combat Battalion and was a POW in Germany.

       Mr. Waltz is survived by: daughter, Brenda married to Robert Hoffman; son, Kevin married to Patricia (Good) Waltz; four grandchildren, Nathan, Laura, Justin, Natalie; four great-grandchildren, Ava, Jai, Shaefer, Walker; sister, Fannie wife of the late Ross Eckman, St. John's Herr Estate.  He was preceded in death by ten siblings.

     Funeral Services: Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at 10 a.m at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St. Leola with viewing 1 hour before the service. Interment: Riverview Burial Park.  Kindly omit flowers.  Memorials welcomed to: Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
