Harlan W. Collins, 96, of Lancaster, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by family members Thursday, October 9th at LGH. Born in Mount Joy, he spent the majority of his life at 10 Cherry Tree lane in Leola, working for Gulf Oil and Lancaster Laboratories while married to Ruth Collins for 55 years.  Ruth Collins passed away in 1996.

His final years were spent with companion Ruth Buckwalter also of Lancaster, PA who passed away in late August of this year. He was a longtime member of the Conestoga Church of the Brethren and an associate member of the Bird-In-Hand United Methodist Church.

Beloved by many friends, he is survived by daughter, Julia Collins (Jack Cannon) Mountville, PA; son, Philip Collins (Francy Collins) Sugar Hill, GA; grandson, Michael Collins (Celia Collins) Gainesville, FL; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 3 step great-great-grandchildren; 3 nieces and a nephew.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14th at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola. Viewing: 1-2 p.m. Interment: Mohler’s Cemetery, Ephrata.
