Harold T. “Hal” Groff, 69, of 553 Millcross Road, Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Mary E. ( H a r n i s h ) Groff. They were married in 1965. Born in E. Petersburg, he was the son of the late Clarence and Miriam (Todd) Groff. Mr. Groff was a U.S. Army veteran and was a retired bank officer of the downtown Hamilton Bank branch, retiring in 1981 after an automobile accident. He attended Calvary Church. A sports fan, he loved watching his grandchildren in their activities, and spending time on his Mac computer. He was also a loving father to his three sons and their families: Brian married to Patti (Hughes) Groff, Willow St. and their children, Jordan, Alec, Jacob, Anabeth; Bradley married to Brenda (Fisher) Groff, Lancaster and their children, Madison, Avery, Tristan; Brett married to Heather (Rechtsteiner) Groff, Lancaster and their children, Jenna, Ellie, Savannah, Lucas; brother of Violet Brackbill (the late Clair), Lloyd (Bobbie), Clarence Jr. (Josephine), Arthur (Carol), Charles (Faye), Jeffrey (Sharon), Kevin (Lynn). He was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice, and brothers, Kenton and Richard. The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, PA. Viewing: 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Private interment: Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
