Harriet M. (Tome) Fasig Hammons, 83, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 at The Long Community at Highlands, Lancaster. She was born in Lancaster to the late Donald H. Tome and the late M. Zelma (Banzhof) Tome.
Harriet was a proud member of the Manheim Township High School graduating class of 1960. She retired as an Executive Assistant from Sperry New Holland / CNH. She enjoyed all types of sports, especially the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Ronald L. Hammons, the love of her life. Married later in life, they bonded over their love of sports. She is also survived by her daughter, Karen (Jeff) Miller, Denver; step-daughters, Brianne Hammons, Columbia and Jeaneen Hammons, Harrisburg; her two wonderful grandsons that were the lights of her world, Ryan Miller, Lancaster and Jordan Hatcher, Harrisburg. She is also survived by one brother, Henry H. (Lynn) Tome, Saxonburg and a bonus daughter, Molly Wallace, Lancaster and two special nieces and one special nephew. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert D. Tome and sister-in-law, Martha Tome; and a step-son-in-law, Darren Hatcher.
Harriet was a wonderful mother who taught her daughter how to survive when faced with adversity. She was a “Dear” wife, loving Step-Mom, Grandma and Best Friend. She will truly be missed.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her viewing, Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main Street, Leola, PA 17540. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 pm at Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster.
