Helen D. Brackbill, 97, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Helen was born in Lancaster to the late Earl and Mabel Hart. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Cletus R.Brackbill, also from Lancaster. The two were married in Panama in 1941. Helen was an avid Penn State fan, a tremendous cook, who also loved gardening. She served on a committee for the Blind Association, and also bowled on a Church league, in her younger years.
She is survived by: Daughters, Carole wife of David Connor, Connie wife of Dan Shartle; Grandchildren, Lori wife of Jerry Miller, Heather wife of Paul Travitz, Jenny wife of Doug Eberly, Matthew husband of Jaime Smith; Great-Grandchildren, Kurt and Katie Yazir, Natalie, Myranda, Symantha, Brandyn, and Nicolas Travitz, Casey and Brady Eberly, Bekah Smith, Michael, Mark husband of Lauren, and Hudson Shartle.
Helen was also preceded in death by a brother Paul K. Hart.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for all who assisted in Helen’s care both at The Ann B. Barshinger Center and Lancaster General Hospital 4th floor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen’s name to The Hypertenion Kidney Specialists, 2112 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster or The Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, 2102 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster.
All are invited to gather with the family at 12 noon on Thursday, April 20th at the Embley Chapel of Zion Lutheran Church, 18 Quarry Road, Leola, with graveside services immediately following in the adjoining cemetery.
