Hildegard Emma Frank (Heim), 85, of Leola, PA, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 20, 2014.
Hilde was born in New York City on July 26, 1928. In 1930, Hilde and her parents returned to Germany, where she was raised. She returned to the U.S. at age 18, and later married her husband, Edward Frank, in 1953. They settled in Emerson, NJ, where they raised their beloved children. She is survived by her son, Gene Frank and his wife Patti of Emerson, NJ, and her daughter, Margaret Parker and her husband Dr. Steven Parker of Lancaster, PA. In addition to her husband and children, Hilde is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Lauren Parker Duca and husband Nick Duca, Kerry Parker, Kimberly Parker, and Kevin Frank. Hilde also is survived by her sister, Irmgard Malits of Vero Beach, FL, and brothers Rudi Heim and Manfred Heim, both of Neuhausen, Germany.
Hilde was a loving mother and homemaker and created a wonderful home for her family. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, and, most especially, spending time with her four grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. for friends and relatives, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Furman Home, 59 W. Main St., Leola, PA and internment to follow at Salem Hellers Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hildegard's memory may be made to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, 401 Hackensack Avenue, 9th Floor, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
