Ida Mary Martin, born Aug. 5, 1929, went to be with her Lord Oct. 23, 2017 at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata. She was the wife of the late Samuel S. Martin, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Aaron N. and Amanda (Roth) Stoltzfus.
She was a member of Lichty's Mennonite Church. Ida's joy was to serve the Lord and her family. She enjoyed gardening, appliqueing quilts and quilting. She worked at several sewing factories during her younger years.
She is survived by: sons, Marlin R. husband of Lea Martin, the Philippines, Donald L. husband of Wanda (Metzler) Martin, New Holland; a daughter, Judy A. wife of Carl B. Kauffman, Bird-in-Hand; 13 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; a sister, Martha wife of the late Pete Walker, New Holland. She was preceded in death by: a sister, Edna Stoltzfus; brothers, Edward husband of the late Edna Stoltzfus, Lester husband of the late Pauline Stoltzfus.
Friends may call Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at the Wheat Ridge Chapel of Fairmount Homes, Ephrata. The funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 at 10 AM at Lichty's Mennonite Church, 1690 Union Grove Rd., East Earl, with a viewing from 9:00 to 9:45 AM. Contributions may be made to Christian Aid Ministries, Berlin, OH.
