J. Ervin Martin, 80, of Gordonville, formerly of Leola, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in East Earl Twp., he was the son of the late David W. and Anna Zimmerman Martin. He was married for 52 years to Shirley A. Keebler Martin.
Ervin owned and operated Martin's Hardware Store, Leola, for 43 years. He was a past member of the Leola Lion's Club. He enjoyed gardening, camping, and traveling with his family. He was also a member of the Lancaster Church of the Brethren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: a daughter, Michele wife of David King, New Providence; two grandchildren, Kristina wife of Elijah Groff, Kyle King. He was preceded in death by: two brothers, D. Elvin and J. Paul Martin; two sisters, Katie Hoover and Eva Eby.
Funeral services will be held from the Lancaster Church of the Brethren, 1601 Sunset Ave., Lancaster, on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11 am with interment following Conestoga Memorial Park. Friends may call from 10 to 11 am at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P. O. Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
