Jacob S. Lapp Jr., 81, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014. He was the loving husband of Mary V. Haines Lapp. They were married for 57 years last December. He was the son of the late Jacob S. Sr. and Florence Heinley Lapp.
Mr. Lapp worked as a custodian retiring from Lancaster Country Day School. A corporal in the US Army in the 1950's, he was a member of the New Holland American Legion and the Hempfield Church of the Brethren. He was a fan of the Washington Nationals and the Barnstormers.
He will also be lovingly missed by: his children, Cindy Lapp, Daryl married to Elaine Lapp, Marsha Lapp, all Lancaster; grandchildren, Carlissa, Jessica, Jacqueline, Erin, Cory, Christina, Cailin, Danille; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Alijah, Anastazia, Anneliese, Christian, and Anika who is on the way; brother, H. Edwin married to Kathryn Lapp, Paradise; sister, Alverda Mae married to the late Jonas Zook, Ronks. A grandson, Samuel Lee Lapp and a brother Gary Lee Lapp preceded him in death.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola. Interment: Groffdale (Brick) Mennonite Cemetery. Viewing: 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Furman's. Kindly omit flowers.
