     James Edward Cornette, 87, of Leola, passed away at Evergreen Estates Retirement Community on Saturday, October 6, 2018.  Ed was born in Cazy, WV on February 5, 1931.  He was the son of the late Charlie and Rena Cornette.  Ed is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia A. Cornette.

     Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He worked as a supervisor at the Lancaster RCA Plant until his retirement in 1986.  He was a former member of the Dutchland Polkateers and the Bareville-Leola-Leacock Lions Club.  Ed enjoyed electronics, music, dancing, and spending time with his family.  He loved telling jokes and socializing.

     Ed is also survived by: three daughters and spouses, Debra and Jeffrey Creamer, Susan and Todd Nonnenmocher, and Kimberly and Brett Kreider; six grandchildren, Mike Creamer, Matt Creamer, Josh Nonnenmocher, Jessica Bireley, Amber Wingenroth, and Jared Kreider; five great-grandchildren, Brooke and Bella Creamer, Wyatt and Lincoln Wingenroth, and Cora Rose Nonnenmocher; his sister, Betty Barr; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     The family is extremely grateful for the outstanding care provided by all of the Evergreen Estates staff for the past year, and for the exceptional support and care provided by Grane Hospice for the last four months.
