James R. “Hev” Burkholder, 61, of 152 S. Groffdale Rd., Leola, died Monday, July 29, 2013 at L a n c a s t e r General Hospital. Born in Leola, he was the son of the late Ronald R. and Helen Eckert Burkholder. He was the husband of Patricia Oatman Burkholder. They were married for 32 years. He was a truck driver for Compass Quarry before his retirement. He was a member of the Witmer Fire Company, the Train Collectors Association and the Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association. Besides his wife, he is survived by children, Keary Lentz Baumgardt wife of Kurt of Lancaster, Rick K. Lentz husband of Jacqueline L. of Leola; grandchildren, Tori Lee and Gabrielle Lentz of Leola; brother, Harry Burkholder of Selinsgrove; lifebrothers, Bruce Yarnell of Lancaster and Terry Laukhuf of Leola. A memorial service will be held at the Witmer Fire Company, 455 Mount Sidney Rd., Witmer, PA, on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 8:00 PM. Friends may call 6-8:00 PM at the Fire Company.
