James S. Duffy III, 52, of Leola, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy. Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of Judith L. Kandler Duffy and the late James S. Duffy, Jr. He was owner operator of Tek-Air, a HVAC consulting firm. He was an active individual, who liked to work with his hands. He was a sports enthusiast, traveled extensively and had many and varied hobbies.
Besides his mother he is survived by three children, James M. Duffy of Destin, FL, Jessica N. Duffy of Lancaster, Kelsey U. Duffy of Hershey; step-children, Joshua Hess of Palmyra, Amanda Hess of Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Christopher R. husband of Cathy Latschar Duffy of Brownstown, David M. husband of Cindy Horst Duffy of Leola and a sister, Kerry L. Swartley of Royersford.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Conestoga Church of the Brethren, 141 E. Main St., Leola. Friends may call Saturday 1- 2:00 PM at the church.
