Jesse S. Esh, 81, of 3606 East Pequea Lane, Gordonville, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his home. Born in Gordonville, he was the son of the late David F. and Sylvia Smucker Esh. He was the husband of Fannie King Esh. Jesse was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: five sons, David K. husband of Sadie Mae King Esh, Emanuel K. husband of Linda Stoltzfus Esh, Jesse S., Jr. husband of Sadie Smucker Esh, all of Gordonville, Aaron K. husband of Amanda King Esh of Paradise, Christ K. husband of Malinda Mae Stoltzfus Esh of Kinzers; four daughters, Barbara wife of Jacob Zook of Christiana, Ruth Esh Riehl wife of Mose Riehl of Paradise, Sylvia K. wife of David Smucker, Jr., of Lancaster, Fannie wife of Jacob Riehl of Narvon; 73 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 34 step-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are: a brother, Leroy Esh of Gordonville; two sisters, Mary wife of Jonas Esh of Gordonville, Sadie King of Kirkwood; sister-in-law, Lydia Esh. He was preceded in death by: a son-in-law Jonas S. Esh; two granddaughters, Fannie Rose Esh and Mary Jane Esh; a brother, Stevie; a sister, Katie; an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held from the late home on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at 9 AM EST with interment following in Gordonville Cemetery. Friends may call at the late home from the time of this notice until the time of the service. Kindly omit flowers.
