Joan Koppey, 82, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, FL after a brief illness. Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Victoria Pappas. She was the loving wife of Robert F. Koppey, celebrating 60 years of marriage in September. Joan was active in Bellerose Assembly of God in NY as a youth leader and Sunday school teacher as well as a Sunday school teacher at the Missionary Church in Shillington, PA. She retired from Conestoga Wood Specialties, Inc. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, traveling and other hobbies.
Besides her husband, she is survived by: two children, son, Wayne husband of Carmella Ream Koppey of Terre Hill, PA, daughter, Sharon wife of David Whipple of Brownstown, PA; four grandchildren, Matt (Grayce), Alyssa, Kaitlyn and Lauryn. She was preceded in death by a son, Bradley Koppey and three siblings.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 7 PM at Reamstown Church of God, 400 Pfautz Hill Rd., Stevens, PA. Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM at the church. Interment: 1 PM Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reamstown Church of God Building Fund, PO Box 98, Stevens, PA 17578.
