Joan M. Roether, 81, of Ephrata, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Fairmount Homes. She was born in Ephrata to the late Harry H. and Mabel I. (Garman) Daugherty and was the wife of Donald Roether with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
Joan was the owner and operator Joan’s Economy Shop for 32 years. She was also a member of the Ephrata Area Grace Brethren Church now known as Grace Church.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by three children: Randy, husband of Faye Jonas of North Carolina; Linda, wife of Dan Fox of Lititz; and Louis, husband of Pat Dissinger of Wellsboro, PA and siblings: David and Ralph Daugherty, Donna Batz, and Janice Burkholder. In addition, she enjoyed 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Grace Church, 62 Hahnstown Road, Ephrata followed by a memorial service at 2:30 PM.
