John D. Riehl, 81, of 102 Springhead Rd., Gap, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at his home. Born in Leacock Twp., he was the son of the late John D. and Mary Stoltzfus Riehl. He was the husband of the late Susie Lapp Riehl who died in 2023. Along with his wife, John owned and operated Plain Pine Furniture, Intercourse. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are: 6 children, Daniel L. Riehl, Lancaster, Sadie married to Mark A. Fisher, New Holland, Carolyn married to Samuel Beiler, Millerstown, John D. married to Sheryl Esh Riehl, Quarryville, Marlene married to John M. Beiler, Leola, Mahlon married to Esther Stoltzfus Riehl, Gap; 20 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Leroy married to Fannie Riehl, Gratz, Omar married to Barbie Riehl, Halifax, David Riehl, Gap; a sister-in-law, Annie Riehl, Kinzers; a brother-in-law, Levi Lapp, Morgantown. He was preceded in death by: a son, Levi Riehl; two brothers, Amos and Elam Riehl; 3 sisters, Elizabeth Lapp, Fannie Riehl, and Priscilla Stoltzfus.
Funeral services will be from the Daniel King residence, 5803 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 9 am EST with interment following in Buena Vista Cemetery. The viewing will be at the late home from the time of the notice till the service.
